Back for its eighth year, the Great British Spring Clean is the nation’s biggest mass-action environmental campaign.
This year’s spring clean is taking place from 17 March to 2 April, encouraging everyone to get stuck in and pledge to pick up one, or more, bag of litter. The theme for 2023 is pride, focusing on how litter picking helps #LitterHeroes feel pride in their community.
We have a great variety of parks, countryside and other natural environments in Woking borough, from Goldsworth Park to the Basingstoke Canal. Keeping these green spaces clean and tidy means they can be enjoyed properly by everyone and makes them a better home to wildlife too.
The 2022 campaign saw nearly half a million bags of litter pledged to be picked up, making a real difference to the cleanliness and attractiveness of the places we love.
You can pledge to get involved as an individual, as a group, or at school. Check out the Keep Britain Tidy website to sign up to take part and pledge either a number of bags or time spent litter picking.
