Recycling

June 16, 2020

Recycling is the process of taking materials that are ready to be thrown away and processing them, or changing them, so they can be turned into something else. This is great for the environment because it means we use less materials, and energy, to make new products

Here in Woking, the rubbish we produce in our houses can be sorted into three main bins.

The small green bin is for all our food waste; the blue bin is for all our recycling and the black bin is for general household waste i.e. anything that can’t be recycled.

The good thing is that most things CAN be recycled. Take a look through the list below – you

might be surprised what we can recycle:

  • Dry paper
  • Dry cardboard
  • Metal tins and cans
  • Foil
  • Plastic bottles and pots
  • Plastic tubs and trays
  • Glass bottles and jars
