Woking Environment Action

January 15, 2024

Woking Environment Action (WEAct) is a voluntary group of individuals taking action locally on issues relating to climate change and sustainability.

The group was set up in 1994, as Woking Local Agenda 21, in response to the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio, which called for partnerships of local government with local communities to set a sustainable agenda for the 21st century.

All of the projects and activities undertaken are as a result of suggestions by members and are led and co-ordinated by its voluntary members. WEAct recently became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).
