Surrey Heathland Partnership – New year, new volunteering opportunities!

January 3, 2024

With over 400 volunteer hours donated since the Surrey Heathland Partnership launched its regular volunteering days back in October, they’re pleased to announce that they will be ‘doubling the fun’ by offering events every week on a Wednesday AND a Thursday.

Due to the bird nesting season beginning in March, there is only a short period of time to undertake this important work – the more that can be achieved in the next two months, the better the chance of positive heathland restoration for the coming years.

All events run 10am – 3pm:

Thursday 4 Jan: Prey Heath. Meet at the small carpark adjacent to Bews House, Prey Heath Road, Woking GU22 0SW

Sat 6 Jan:  Pirbright Common. Meet at the pull in by the entrance to the common at the end of Chapel Lane, Pirbright GU24 0JY

Further dates and details can be found in the full winter task programme available on the Surrey Heathland Partnership website.
