On Thursday 20 October, Sheerwater Youth Centre was given a green make over by local volunteers supported by the RHS communities team.
Roughly 20 volunteers turned up to clear the paths, cut back overgrown plants, prep flower beds and plant spring bulbs. Under the watchful eye of the RHS team, volunteers aged as young as two and six got stuck in helping to transform the area and get it ready for spring.
Sheerwater Youth Centre, on Blackmore Crescent, is managed by Woking Tigers and hosts a range of community activities, from kids’ football and women’s badminton to coffee mornings during the week.
Thank you and well done to everyone who turned up to help! The centre looks transformed and will have beautiful flowers in bloom in a few months. Hopefully all the volunteers learned some gardening tips from the RHS team that they can put into practice at home.
