Clean Air Day, the UK’s largest campaign on air pollution, is happening on Thursday 15 June 2023. The theme is “Clean up our air to look after your mind this #CleanAirDay”.
The campaign is focusing on the fact that cleaning up our air is good for us in many ways: it not only benefits our physical health and the environment, but can also protect our mental and brain health.
This year, we will be supporting Clean Air Day by working with partners to raise awareness. We want to encourage residents to get involved with local walks, including a walk on Friday 16 June 2023 in aid of Clean Air Day, meeting at 11.30am at the Eastwood Leisure Centre Café (GU21 5RF).
Walking, wheeling or using public transport reduces your exposure and contribution to air pollution. We want to encourage everyone to walk short distance trips and leave the car at home wherever and whenever possible. Woking nature walks are regular guided walks around the borough led by a trained walk leader. Find a newfound love, or re-kindle an old love, for walking and find out more.
Information and ideas on actions you can take to play your part in cleaning up our air will be shared. To get involved, visit the Clean Air Day website.
